Birth Month: September
What I Post: Lots of fandom stuff, be that fic, general thoughts, or anything in between. I also will make fairly simple updates/observations about the world and daily life, with some deeper posts that will probably be locked to my access list.
My Active Fandoms: Disney/Animated Films, Steven Universe, Pokemon (games and some of the anime), Disney's Descendants, Rescue Sirens
Less Active or Inactive Fandoms: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Phineas and Ferb, Wander Over Yonder, Gravity Falls, The Big Bang Theory, Harry Potter, Friends, Disney Fairies, Sofia the First, Monster High, Ever After High, Guardians of the Galaxy (MCU), Ouran High School Host Club
( Couldn't think of all that much to say. )
I don't have anything else to say, really. I'm just so excited!
Anyway! Let's get down to the business of listing some polyships! In no particular order, my top five are:
1. OT3: Bender/Fry/Leela, Futurama (aka "Bender doesn't like to be left out, and will not be ignored.)
2. OT3: Chel/Tulio/Miguel, The Road to El Dorado (I prefer femslash for Chel, but this is such a classic OT3)
3. OT4: Mal/Evie/Carlos/Jay, Disney's Descendants
4. OTV: Pearl/Bismuth+Garnet/Bismuth, Steven Universe (Could work as OT3 if I'm in a Pearlnet place, which is admittedly rare for me.)
5. OTV: Cassandra/Rapunzel+Eugene/Rapunzel, Tangled: The Series (Quickly becoming more of an OT3 for me.)
What are some of your favorite polyships, if any?
On the other hand, I'm playing Alpha Sapphire as a de-stresser, and my starter Torchic surprised me by being female. With my brief revisit to Gen 5 having Garnet the Tepig, and of course, Dawn the Primarina in Moon, that's three first-try female starters in a row.
My favorite item is a "Blue Zircon: Space Attorney" shirt. It is the best.
I also picked up the Ruby and Sapphire arc of Pokemon Adventures. It's so good, and I wish I'd given Pokemon Adventures a chance way sooner! I bought a set of DnD dice with a green-to-black ombre coloration, too! A few other things here and there, such as two really nice full-art Pokemon cards (Mallow and Hau! <3) and these adorable Amethyst Appreciation Zines by an artist by the name of Grace Kraft.
Today, I'm Guzma-ing it up, and looking forward to a few really excellent-sounding panels!
I'm so excited! My lineup for cosplay is as follows: Guzma from Pokemon Sun/Moon on Friday, Amethyst from Steven Universe Saturday, and while I'm not cosplaying on Sunday, I will be wearing my classic-style Harley Quinn dress.
If anyone is on Instagram and wants to see cosplay pics, check out @imaginationinstitute! It's 99% doll photography, but once a year the cosplay pics start up again! If you're not on Instagram but curious about the cosplays, let me know. I'd love to show off, haha.
I've scheduled in the times for getting autographs from Shelby Rabara, Michaela Dietz, and Jerome Flynn, as well as found the panels I'm interested in checking out. I'm also hoping to pick up my own set of DnD dice while I'm browsing the vendors' tables.
So let's see... While cleaning today, I found some Sculpey. It's unwrapped, and in lovely condition. I'm not sure what I want to make with it, but I look forward to it. I haven't made any three-dimensional art in years, after all.
I could use it to work on a custom Dungeons & Dragons miniature, once I figure out my new character. A couple I'm good friends with has started teaching me the ways of DnD, and it's fun! I thought I'd like the character creation process more than actually engaging in the roleplay, but the opposite is actually true - go figure! Now I just need to figure out my next character... The first one I made is just kind of ill-defined in terms of traits and such; she's not coming together for me.
I'm thinking a Halfling, this time around...
Moving on, I'm still trying to figure out some things in life, but my mood has been improving.
I wish there weren't so many movies to see, now that I have no income. I really want to see Spider-Man: Homecoming, and I'm convinced I'd enjoy Cars 3, too. I'd also still like to see Wonder Woman.
Camp NaNo starts very soon, and I'm second-guessing my project. This is par for the course, though. We'll see what I end up inspired to write - no matter what it is, it should be fun!
The start of Camp NaNo fast approaches! I think I have a writing project that I've settled on, but who knows with me? I don't think I ever haven't changed my story on the first day... Sometimes even after that. Oops.
The first day of Camp NaNo is also my fiancee's birthday! :D I can't wait for her to open her gifts from me!
And summer is finally here, woo! To me, that means Pokemon Go walks, watermelon, and binge-rewatching Phineas and Ferb!
Thank you for writing for me for this celebration of rare pairs! I'm so, so looking forward to whatever it is you write me; I'm sure I'll love it!
I'd like to start with a general DNW list, and then I'll move onto any fandom-specific notes and ideas beneath a cut!
- Sad endings
- Explicit sexual content
- Body Horror
- Gore of any kind
- Non-Canon Character Death
- Drug Use (unless canon)

The mildly frustrating news: August. Twelfth. Urgh, I don't want to wait that long! And that's just for the tv movie premiere - the series doesn't officially start until over a month later in late September.
But it's no big deal. I can wait; I'm an adult with patience, etc., etc. Heh.
I think I'm going to make fried rice tomorrow, which I'm excited for. I better make sure I have soy sauce... And maybe actually put scallions in it, for once! That would be delicious.
On that note... Anyone have any savory and nutritious recipes they'd like to share/link me to? I want to try some new ones; I always cook the same things.
And it's so nice to be completely and utterly sucked in by a book, like in the old days. I read over half of the book the day I got it out, and then took a break to write and be generally distracted for a day or two, and read a few chapters this morning.
Oh, but technically - I did read something yesterday! Because Make Art (On Purpose!), a Steven Universe book, came in the mail. I ordered - well, pre-ordered - this thing in... January, I think? I was disappointed when I saw the book - it was even thinner than I expected, and more wide. Less book-book, more activity-book, which I was aware it would be, really, but still wasn't expecting - if that makes sense.
But then I started reading it. I haven't drawn in it or anything. I don't do that with these books anymore - I have some similar Phineas and Ferb books - because I like to have them in nice, new condition. But just reading it was... Surprisingly cool? It's cute and highly off-beat art project ideas for kids, but it really encourages the reader to think about art in ways that are outside of the box. My favorite page is about art you can't see or anything. It's about art that exists in your mind, as sensations.
And the whole thing is sprinkled with little "commentaries" from Steven, Peridot, and Lapis, which is very cute. And now I want to do the visual art thing. Aside from a doodle of Padparadscha on the back of a notecard recently, I haven't done that in ages. Possibly since last year's Connecticon.
An open mind and willingness to read uncommon ships is also a must. This is a very, very slash-tastic AU - I legit think Greg/Rose is the only het ship I've got going, maybe one or two other minor ones - but we are talking about Steven Universe here, so I'm hoping that won't be an issue.
We can communicate over email, or we can stick to DreamWidth, in which case I'll set up Google Docs, or just post private entries. Or if there's a third option you want to explore? Sure, let me know and I'll try to make it work!
Also, if you can't offer to Beta, but you think you know someone who'd be interested, or know of some kind of Beta-finding community here on DW, please tell me about them/the comm!
If you'd like to see some of my writing, my AO3 works are here. What I have up there isn't exactly recent, but it's what I've written most recently (and beyond). Honestly, I could have done varying degrees of better on certain fics especially. ('Hoist the Colors' and 'test my limits' are only still up because they were gifts, and unfortunately, I just realized they were gifts for the same person. Alas.)
Important Edit: Let me know if there are topics you're uncomfortable reading, too, in case those would be a problem.
The only big, triggering issues I'm dealing with so far are Lapis having been in an emotionally/verbally abusive relationship with (an "offstage") Jasper and the death of a character who very, very roughly represents Pink Diamond, which isn't so much explored in detail, itself, but will probably involve a terminal illness, and the character who (very, very roughly) represents Blue Diamond is her sister who hasn't dealt with the loss very well. (I took the sibling path over the admittedly-more-likely-in-canon romantic path; it's not incestuous.)
But already, I've also got a very 'Lapis has a morbid sense of humor' reference to fire and people (specifically, Lapis) burning, so YMMV.
Second Edit: The first part of the College AU is up, actually, without having been Beta Read, so that can give you an idea of what you're getting into!
So, first and foremost, this is a post where I invite anyone - anyone at all who sees it - to contribute to a list I'm collecting of helpful media or writing guides, or anything else that can help an author writing a college or high school setting. Please, I'd love additions to the list; ideally, they'll keep growing.
Now, here are the (very limited) resources and references I have so far. I have not watched/read all of these, by any means, and have instead compiled these largely from lists online. All of these titles come with a Your Mileage May Vary warning, and please, do your research before jumping in if there are certain topics you want to avoid. Some of these get pretty dark.

*The High School and overall setting in Boy Meets Boy is far from typical, or even realistic, but the situations and characters are a good reference, I'd say.
I have a big writing project in the works, specifically, my Treat Yo Self Descendants reboot... Thing. So that's exciting, and will probably double as my Camp NaNo project in July.
I want to warm up with some, like, shorter things, though. I haven't really written fic in a kind of a while - you know, by my standards - so I'd like to get un-rusty. Thing is... I can't decide what I want to write. I have a few ideas: A Steven Universe college AU is the big one that keeps coming up, but... It might be easier if I'd been in college a) longer and b) more recently. And... I know I have other ideas to write jotted down somewhere, but I can't remember what they are, or where I wrote them down.
I'm pretty focused on SU for the warm-up writing, since it won't be my Camp NaNo/Treat Yo Self project, and I've had 'all the feels' since Wanted. Um... But yeah! It's weird, I have motivation to write, and inspiration to write, but just... Not enough of either, I guess.
I think I can blame the heat for all the motivation I'm missing, honestly. This kind of weather always makes me feel so sluggish. (I love summer as a concept - the idea of freedom and creativity and all that during summer is still drilled in my brain from my school days,
The official release of the Steven Universe soundtrack yesterday was the best thing. I think I've listened to the whole thing through three times already, heh!
The dolls I
probably shouldn't have ordered from the Disney Store site arrive Monday, which is going to be fun. Can't wait to take pictures! (I have an Instagram account for doll photography. Yup, dollstagram is definitely A Thing.)
My first non-holiday fic/art exchange will have the works up tomorrow, iirc, and I'm so pumped - not to mention super curious as to which of my requests was filled. (I mean, I have a suspicion just based on which fandom is most popular, but still - exciting!)
